Peps Lil Sweetheart - 1997 Bay Roan Mare 14.3 Hands Five Panel N/N

"Evelyn" was humanely euthanized on October 18, 2016 due to insurmountable complications of unsoundness and age.  Despite our efforts, the old girl kept losing ground and the difficult decision was made to put her down.  We purchased Evelyn at 17 yrs old, already having experienced a tough life.  She had been purchased by a neighbor at auction when she was 15, a pity purchase as she surely would have gone for meat.  The gallant old girl gave him one filly before he sold her to us.  She gave us two more fillies, one we kept and one we sold.  In total, she produced 14 foals by five different stallions, 3 bays, 9 roans and 2 sorrels.  We are keeping her 2016 red roan daughter by Docs All Dun Kiddin.

Scooter - Spring 1987 to November 12, 2015 Chestnut Gelding

Scooter came into our life in November of 1998.  We purchased him for our daughter, Jill, then nine.  Scooter had to be the craftiest pony you will come across but he taught our daughter more than can be imagined.  She learned to be persistent, brave, aggressive and to never give up.  Scooter, in turn, carried her to Pony Club jumping ribbons, several 4-H achievement days, a first place finish in Trail and a second place finish in Barrels at her first ever show in Yorkton.  He chased cows like a veteran, apparently had even been roped off of, jumped two feet and participated safely in many parades.  All this from a 13.2 hand ex-chuckwagon pony that was rescued off the meat truck.[literally, he was ready to be loaded when he was spotted]  At Jill's high school graduation services, she was asked who was the most influential person in her life.  She replied,"My pony, Scooter.  He taught me how to win, how to lose, and that when you fall off, you have to get back on."  Wise words any way you apply them.  Scooter's health began to deteriorate in the spring of 2015 and he passed away peacefully surrounded by his pasture mates and his BFF,  Baby Girl.  He was a considerate gentleman to the end, he did not even force us to make the difficult decision as to whether or not the time had come to put him down.
