 “Ivan” is a Grey (papers say roan, he is grey) registered Appendix Qh ( ¼ TB) gelding . Standing at nearly 14.2hh at not quite 2, I expect him to finish off very close to 15.2hh with a good sized foot and ample bone. This colt is friendly, quiet and is easy to catch anywhere (pen or 160 acres – he happily shoves his head in the halter). Ivan loads, stands tied alone for long durations, has had regular farrier work, and is beginning some basic ground work training (yielding his hind and shoulders, lunging). Ivan is very curious and busy, but brave and willing. He has some serious wheels and is quick off his feet – he is not spooky on the ground, but will be a powerhouse like his dam, and no slouch when speed is needed. Ranch raised, he has not been spoiled or coddled. His dam was successful in flatwork and dressage – she is incredibly smart, one of the most athletic horses I have owned, thriving when she was challenged and had a job. The sire has shown great aptitude in the training pen for roping and has dabbled with the barrel pattern. He was easy to start and is a gentleman in the herd and to handle in breeding season. This is a cool colt with personality and presence, that will excel in the hands of someone who wants a competitive horse – regardless of the discipline. Sire and Dam pictured for reference.
